7pm Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Extended Edition (2003, co-adapt & directed by Peter Jackson, New Line Pictures, 263mns, digital, USA/New Zealand)

SPECIAL NOTES: Doors will open at 8am and the Grand Central Market Parking Garage will stay open until 1230am. We highly encourage our audience to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner at next door’s Grand Central Market with your choice of dozens of cuisines. You can bring food and drink into the theater.

PARKING: Please note that we have a limited number of validated parking tickets available at the Grand Central Market Parking Garage, 308 S Hill St, Los Angeles, CA 90013 accessible on Hill Street just past 3rd Street. Please make sure to purchase a validated parking ticket here as an ADD ON and we will hand it to you when you enter the theater. There are also very close parking lots at the corner of 3rd and Hill Street, just a half block from theater. However we can't offer validation for those lots.

That’s right. Secret Movie Club is returning to new events and we want to get this party started right. With our Lord of the Rings marathon. And just in time. This may be your last chance to see these movies on the big screen for the next 2 years.

So we’re going all out. That’s right. We’re showing the extended editions of all three movies. Take the journey with us as we join Frodo, Sam, Gandalf the Wizard, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, and Stryder as they form a fellowship to destroy the evil ring of power in the mountains of Mordor before the Dark Lord Sauron can get the ring and enslave all of Middle Earth.

If you’ve never read J.R.R. Tolkien’s amazing classic fantasy series or seen filmmaker Peter Jackson’s unbelievable adaptation of the novels, you are in for a treat. This is what cinema is meant to be. And dare we say it. . .better than Star Wars, better than almost any other trilogy in movie history, the Lord of the Rings reminds us what moviemaking can be: putting the epic, incredible, and impossible on screen with gripping storytelling, captivating performances, still miraculous special effects.

The sequences are still legendary. Fighting the Balrog in the mines of Moria. Standing up to tens of thousands of horrific Orcs in the Battle of Helm’s Deep. And finally the journey into the land of evil itself-Mordor and its monsters and the eye of the Dark Lord on it all.

The Lord of the Rings has always been about reminding ourselves that no matter how small, how outmatched we might feel, we can always do something, fight the good fight, start the adventure, and work for the good of everyone and everything. In life as in moviemaking.

So join us. And we’re showing a very special version of THE HOBBIT just two days before on Friday, June 27, 2025 @ 7p if you want the full LOTR experience.

You can get either HOBBIT & LOTR ALL WEEKEND passes, LOTR all-day passes, or a la carte tickets for the movies you want to see.
