Look. Sometimes you gotta show bat-sh@t crazy movies to remind you that anyone with a dream, a will of granite, and some serious delusions of grandeur can get movies made. And sometimes, yes sometimes those movies will endure and gain crazy cult status.

And many times, those movies will blow your mind.

First up, we show cult classic The Strange Creatures… by Ray Dennis Steckler. Shot by Vilmos Zsigmond and Laszlo Kovacs (!!) for only $38,000.00, the movie has something to do with an amusement park and zombies and the occult. But it also has musical numbers, dance sequences, amazing color. How did this movie get made?! Because Ray Dennis Steckler had a dream and refused to hear the word no!

So mind-blowing Mystery Science Theater 3000 did an episode on it, join us if you need to re-discover your love of cinema through a movie you never thought could exist. Ray Dennis Steckler has gained a reputation like Russ Meyer and Larry Coen for making truly bizarre movies that have something there that is brilliant and indescribable.

We follow it with 1984’s camp rock and roll musical Voyage of the Rock Aliens starring Pia Zadora, Craig Sheffer, Harold and Maude’s Ruth Gordon (!!), Jermaine Jackson, the Hills Have Eyes guy. . . I don’t even know where to start with this one. Aliens. Rock and Roll. Hormones. Atlanta, Georgia. A movie that could only be made because someone wanted to reverse engineer singles and soundtracks into some kind of feature film.

Look. You need to laugh. You need to reward yourself. You need to discover cinema you didn’t think possible.

You need tonight.

Best always,

Craig Hammill
