We’re excited to welcome back for the fifth time the hilarious improv troupe The Resistance who have come to the Secret Movie Club Theater previously to do their hilarious one hour audience participation improv show then gather in the theater to live dub a notoriously bat-sh@t crazy movie in another language into bat-sh@t crazy English.
If you’ve never attended one of these shows, they are some of the most purely hilarious and creative events we do each year.
First, The Resistance takes your suggestions and spontaneously creates a 45 minute or so “mini-movie” comedy improv based on a genre and your suggestions.
Then they move into the theater, sharp, lithe, and live dub a feature film while we laugh our asses off.
Tonight, we screen the notoriously non-sensical Japanese anime Garzey’s Wing, a 90 minute straight to video Japanese anime from the mid-90’s that has something to do with a young man named Chris getting teleported naked by a huge mystical duck to “another world” where wings sprout from his feet and he fights. . .
Oh why bother! The Resistance are gonna take this diamond in the rough and have a ball live dubbing it and trying to figure out how to make a story and characters out of an anime with crazy sequences, no story, and characters whose motivations remain a mystery even to the creators of the anime itself.

REFUNDS:
We can offer refunds up to 24 hours before showtime. Please request a refund through Eventbrite and we will process ASAP. After that, no refunds. Sorry.
However if something last minute comes up and you can’t make the screening, for whatever reason, just write to us before showtime: community@secretmovieclub.com and we’ll offer you complimentary tickets to a future screening, good for 90 days. (Disclaimer: Future screening must have available tickets, cannot be a fundraiser, and must be comparably priced)
HELPFUL SECRET MOVIE CLUB (1917 Bay Street, 2nd Floor, LA, CA 90021) THEATER PARKING TIPS:
We recommend that you park just outside our theater. Remember our theater is actually in a beautiful street art alleyway in the back of the 1917 Bay Street building. You get to our entrance by taking a right on Wilson, then a right behind the building. We are the first set of black steps on the right after the big gate.
There is also a parking lot at the corner of Mateo and Violet Street, just 2 blocks from our theater, which costs $7 per car.
