Secret Movie Club & Channel 35 Short Film Fest 2021
SECRET MOVIE CLUB & CHANNEL 35 SHORT FILM FEST 2021 SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
This year’s theme is “Los Angeles Rises”. Interpret that however you want. But if your short takes place in New York City and has nothing to do with Los Angeles, it’s probably not gonna get picked.
Shorts must be 5 minutes or fewer. All music etc. must be original and/or licensed/cleared/in the public domain. No matter how good your short is, if there is any copyrighted material in it that isn’t licensed/cleared/in the public domain, we can’t pick it! So just use common sense.
Channel 35 can air shorts that contain material all the way up to a PG-13 or light R. So just no overly gratuitous sex, violence, language. Basically anything that could get shown on PBS. And PBS has shown some PG-13 and R rated movies.
Short submissions are due no later than Monday, July 12, 2021 @ 11:59pm. Please email a link/download for your short (including password if you protected it) to: community@secretmovieclub.com
We will reach out to the moviemakers of the 12 selected shorts by Monday, July 26, 2021 @ 12pm.
Selected shorts will get paid $100 for a 1 year license to screen on LA’s Channel 35. Filmmakers will be invited to the Channel 35 studio in downtown Los Angeles in late July/early August to be interviewed by Craig Hammill, Secret Movie Club Founder.Programmer as an intro ahead of their shorts. This intro and the short will play for 1 year on Channel 35!
After that 1 year, all rights to short revert back to filmmakers.
If you have any further questions, please write us at: community@secretmovieclub.com
Otherwise, go out, have fun, make a great short on the theme “Los Angeles Rises” and submit by 7/12/21!
You can watch the below promo which covers most of the same information (if you like bright shiny visual things).
