7p HALLOWEEN Do you really need to read anything about Halloween? This John Carpenter directed low budget horror movie so re-defined ALL horror that it still casts its Michael Myers sized shadow over all work in the monster/slasher horror sub genre nearly 50 years later. But has anyone done it with quite as much old school Howard Hawks class as master moviemaker John Carpenter? After a horrific and shocking (and cinematically dynamite opener) we jump to the present (1978 to us) where teen Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis who will become a star because of this movie) has weird feelings someone is following her on Halloween day. Those shudders are confirmed when she babysits that night to be terrorize by the mysterious, unfathomable Michael Myers who has escaped a mental institution. Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasance) is not far behind. But will anyone survive Halloween? Join us for one of the most enduring horror classics of all time. And then...

9p HALLOWEEN 2 Released 3 years later, screenwriters Carpenter and Debra Hill ingenuously decided to have the sequel pick up just moments after the original movie ended. So it's the same night! Laurie is transferred to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital to recover from her trauma. FAT CHANCE! Michael Myers gets wind of her whereabouts and heads to the hospital to finish the job with Dr. Loomis racing to prevent the worst. Carpenter, Hill, and director Rick Rosenthal embraced Carpenter's RIO BRAVO Howard Hawks' love here to make another near single location horror movie. Only now HALLOWEEN had the likes of reachers for the throne like FRIDAY THE 13TH to contend with. Thus things go to 11 including a finale that pays homage to the original 1950's THE THING (and thus sets us up for Carpenter's own THE THING remake in a way which he went to shoot around the same time). Come see the terrifying conclusion to the most horrific Halloween night of all time with a reveal that well. . .(no spoilers). But wait.

11p PROM NIGHT Jamie Lee Curtis firmly established herself as THE Scream Queen of the late 1970's/early 1980's with a string of very successful slasher/grindhouse horror movies. Next to HALLOWEEN, maybe no movie so terrified and made an impression on young teen minds as PROM NIGHT which basically set the template for all urban legends of the 1980's. Get ready for even more psychological craziness as Jamie Lee plays Kim who along with her twin Alex gets ready for her prom night. 6 years prior Kim's and Alex's younger sister Robin accidentally died in front of four friends who. . .you guessed it will also be at the prom. Along with THE NAKED GUN's Leslie Nielsen who plays Principal Hammond who learns that Robin's convicted murderer has escaped a mental institution and is heading towards the Disco'd out high school prom. Well. . .you can probably figure out this Prom Night will be one to remember. But not in a good way! Join us for a movie that takes all the twists and turns of the HALLOWEEN movies and cranks the whole thing up to 11.

All titles on gloriously scratched worn and torn 35mm grindhouse prints. Which is how you do horror in a movie palace by the way.

*Come to 1, 2, or all 3.
